Helping children at Thailand orphanage Mercy International

Dale Kidd De Pyper from Taree will travel to northern Thailand for three weeks to spend time at a children’s orphanage.

She is joining former local Nicole Rowsell who works at the Mercy International orphanage in the province of Phrae.

Nicole has been back in Taree (where she grew up and went to school) for some weeks visiting her mother, her daughter in Canberra and son in Newcastle, and speaking at various organisations including her home church, One Life in Taree.

Dale and Nicole leave on April 19.

Nicole started visiting the orphanage in 2013 and has been there permanently for 18 months.

“We have a me school/preschool building with 34 children from the ages of three to nine,” said Nicole.

“We are looking for primary school teachers to come and do teacher training for our Thai staff. We also need money and physical help for future school building projects and resources.”

Child sponsorships are $40 month and an educational sponsorship is $25 month.

Volunteer visitors can come and stay and visit their sponsor child or just come to help out.
