Two Boats Collide off James Bond Island – 19 Tourists rescued

Phuket – 16 Tourists were among nineteen people that were rescued from the sea near James Bond Island, The two boats collided in Phang Nga Bay earlier today (Khao Phing Kan).

Amongst those injured were 4 Belgium’s and 12 tourists from Norway,The Vice Governer Eakkarat Leeseng and  Tourist Assistance Center (TAC) officers arrived shortly after the rescued were admitted to hospital.It has been confirmed that 3 Thais and 16 tourists were admitted for minor injuries.

The European boat “the Wararat” was skippered by 68 year old Mr Salaima,and the Chinese boat “999 Tour 41” was skippered by 43 year old Mr Suthin Sutthakit.

It has been reported that visibility was not so good and the captain of the Chinese tourist boat could not see clearly possibly causing the collision with the Wararat that sank shortly after the two boats collided.No Chinese tourists were injured it today’s incident.
